Exploring the Insights of the Express Entry Program through Numbers

Is it easy to get through Express Entry? What do the numbers tell you?

Welcome to a deep dive into the intriguing statistics of the Express Entry program! Let’s uncover some key figures that shed light on this program’s dynamics:

What’s the Current CRS Ranking:

An intriguing fact reveals that the current Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) ranking requirement stands at  496. Quite an interesting point, isn’t it? Too high for Indians at least!

Immigration Level Plan for 2023:

Delving into the Federal High Skilled category’s immigration plan for 2023, an approximate total of 82,880 slots are allocated.

This encompasses the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).  Although data was not explicitly provided by IRCC for FSWP , projections indicate that Canada aims to welcome over 109,020 new immigrants through the Express Entry program by 2024.

It’s important to note that these figures exclude the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) level, which is set at 105,500 for 2023.

CRS Range for General Draws in 2023:

The CRS range for General draws in 2023 varies. The minimum CRS score required was 481 in the draw held on March 29th, while the highest CRS score of 507 was observed on January 15th. It’s worth mentioning that these figures do not represent the lowest CRS score under category-based selection draws. For instance, considering only healthcare occupations, the lowest CRS score was 463 under the  Express Entry category-based selection draw for healthcare workers on July 6th, 2023.

Waiting Pool in the Range of 481-490:

Within the range of CRS scores from 481 to 490, a total of 6,721 individuals are currently in the waiting pool.

Waiting Pool in the Range of 491-500:

A total of  2,709 candidates find themselves within the CRS score range of 491 to 500, eagerly awaiting their Express Entry journey.

Total Invitations Issued:

A  sum of 74,900 invitations have been issued thus far under the Express Entry category. This figure, however, excludes four PNP draws this year, including Targeted Draws and those specifically for French-speaking and trades professionals.

Analyzing the Numbers:

Taking a closer look at the numbers, a simple subtraction tells us that there are 7,980 vacancies left out of the initially allocated 82,880 slots for the year.

Moral of the story:

Of course Express Entry has become rigid, as I have always said, the ideal time to immigrate would be a year back and the second best time is “NOW”, you have to give yourself a chance if you are determined to get through “Express Entry”
